Meet the Team
Richard Palmer – Managing Director
Richard started his career at The Devonshire Arms at Bolton Abbey on a management development programme, and was soon promoted to run the Devonshire Fell at Burnsall before moving to Chatsworth where he opened The Devonshire Arms at Beeley. After a short time abroad he then took up the role of Head of Catering and Retail at Chatsworth before becoming Managing Director of Devonshire Hotels & Restaurants in March 2017.
Nigel Brunt – Group Sales & Marketing Manager
After working in the hotel arena for over 15 years Nigel joined the group in 2015 bringing him a wealth of knowledge and experience from his previous roles including Cliveden House, The Lensbury Club, The Grand York and The Raithwaite Estate. Nigel now heads up the group sales and marketing team from his office at the Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa where he is responsible for group sales, marketing, PR and revenue management activity.
Adam Dyke – General Manager Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa
Adam graduated in hospitality management in 2001 and since has embraced the industry whole heartedly. Adam has managed some of the best properties in the North East and Yorkshire including Wynyard Hall and also Yorebridge House. As an adopted Yorkshireman he freely admits that it has always been his ambition to manage the iconic Devonshire Arms Hotel and Spa and was delighted to be appointed in his role in June 2015.
Stacy Kenealy – HR Manager
Stacy has worked for the Devonshire Group for several years now. After starting her hotel career as a receptionist at Jarvis Hotels she then progressed through various areas of hospitality including duty management, reservations and conference & events sales. After successfully gaining her CIPD in 2010 she took up the position of HR manager.
Kath Jagger – Group Financial Controller
Kath has worked in accounting since leaving school and joined the Devonshire Group back in 1998 where she has progressed to her current position of financial controller.
David Cook – General Manager Devonshire Fell and Cavendish Pavilion
David started out in television working for ITV, and the BBC. Moving into events production he worked on some of the largest events put on by the Royal Navy including the Queens Golden Jubilee and Trafalgar 200. After running his own restaurant in the Lake District for several years he moved to the Cavendish Pavilion, winning Outlet manager of the Year in 2012. Achieving an MBA at Lancaster University in 2015 he now manages the Cavendish Pavilion and the Devonshire Fell.
Gavin Williams – General Manager, The Devonshire Arms at Beeley
Gavin has joined the group with a wealth of experience from high volume branded hospitality operations. Working within the industry for over 10 years Gavin has worked for a number of organisations including Premier Inn, Whitbread and Greene King before joining the Group in 2016.
