...and we’re delighted to have some new fruit and veg growing in the Kitchen Gardens at The Devonshire Arms at Bolton Abbey.
At last...some warm sunshine and what it a difference it makes...
The kitchen gardens really come into their own during the summer months, with the seeds and bulbs that were lovingly planted by the Estate gardeners having grown ripe for the picking! The summer brings with it a lighter menu; from fresh salads, light infusions and fruity dishes, to refreshing sorbets.
From the gardens, Devonshire Chefs are using a vast variety of lettuce and herbs, including wood sorrel, mint, baby onions and peas, plus so much more... Why not visit us soon and sample the freshest ingredients in Yorkshire?
Just a few months after being awarded 2 AA rosettes for his cooking, Dan Birk, Head Chef at The Devonshire Fell has won a prestigious Acorn Award. The annual Caterer & Hotelkeeper Acorn Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of 30 industry professionals under the age of 30. If you’ve not yet been there I can really recommend his food and of course the views are unbeatable – what a combination!
And last, but not least, look out for the re-opening of our pub at Pilsley on the Chatsworth Estate at the end of June. Chef Patron Alan Hill will manage the new edition to the Devonshire portfolio alongside The Devonshire Arms at Beeley and you can look forward to well kept cask ales and freshly cooked to order traditional pub food.
